No discount to woman while booking online :HRTC

Himachal Pradesh Transport Corporation decided to not extend the benefits of 50 pet cent discount to faresex while booking online for HRTC buses however it would continue to provide subsidies journey in the intrastate route while benifciary take tickets offline.HRTC Deputy DM Traffic Devasen Negi told media person here today that women would not be given discount on online ticket booking as there is a possibility of many kinds of fraud however women would get 50 percent discount on taking tickets only at the counter and in buses.Even if the woman’s name is on the ticket, but any person can travel on it.  Inwake of upcoming Assembly Election state government offer a sop of fifty percent concessional fare to woman with effect from July 1 in all ordinary buses. In HRTC 

 buses, women have been given 50 percent discount in buses, but now Corporation made new rules emphasising   50 percent discount only on taking offline tickets. Mr Negi said that if women book  ticket online they have to remit full money.  The corporation management also made it clear that women would get 50 percent discount in fares only in buses running in Himachal Pradesh.  Facility of 50% discount is not available to women for booking tickets online in HRTC buses and money once deducted would not be refunded provide benifciary cancel their booking.  He said that anyone could book tickets online on behalf of woman, HRTC argued that the discount in the corporation’s buses would be available only if the ticket is taken by the conductor or counter.
