National wide Bharat Bandh cripples services in State

On the call of  Bharat Bandh given by Samyukt Kisan Manch crippled the daily  services in the state as its impact was also visible in small and big towns in the Himachal Pradesh.

Various trade union including CITU, Anganwadi, Kissan Sabha, Mahila Janwadi Sabha and Seb Utpaadak Sangh and others trade union including cabs and hospitality trade unions did not join their duty and give Dharana at Deputy commissioner Office Shimla for entire days .

Report of Farmers and laborers demonstration are coming from  18 places including all the district headquarters of the state. An protest rally was taken out from Panchayat Bhawan to DC office in Shimla. Many markets remained closed till 12 noon in rural areas including Theog and Nirath.

The Joint Front of Central Trade Union of the industry also supported this movement of farmers.

 Apart from Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, other 10 unions are also involved in the protest. Traders in some cities have also decided to keep their shops closed in support of the bandh.

State President of Kisan Sabha, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar said that the Union Goverment has not fulfilled the promises made to the farmers during the farmers’ movement for two years as it has ensure minimum support price to them.

He said that it was after two years now when farmers were compelled to  march to Delhi. 

He said that basic difference of this protest held today was that including farmers various trade and laborers union came out on the road in entire country and they also demonstrat against the central government at many places in the state .

Dr Tanwar cautioned the centre that if the demands of the farmers are not fulfilled soon, farmers belonging to SKM would intensify the movement and farmers from Himachal would also march to Delhi. 

Farmer leader Sandeep Verma alias Sonu in Theog said that the market was kept closed till 12 noon in support of the movement of all traders and farmers.

Farmers are demanding a law to guarantee of MSP on the  all crops, implementation of Land Acquisition Act 2013, guarantee of 

 200 employment days every year under MNREGA, provision of jobs to families members of farmers killed in the previous farmers’ movement, Increasing daily wage of workers upto Rs 700, waving of farmers or agricultural  loan and provision of Rs 10000 monthly pension to farmers and agricultural labour. Farmers also demanding punishment to culprits of Lakhimpur Khiri, Repealing of Electricity Amendment Bill 2020 and  constitution of Spice.
