National Unity Day celebrated at Indian Institute of Advanced Study Shimla

National Unity Day was celebrated at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study on Tuesday. The scholars, officers, and employees of the institute participated enthusiastically in the National Unity Day celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On this occasion, first of all, in the institute premises, Secretary Shri Mehar Chand Negi talked about the contribution of Sardar Patel in the context of national unity and everyone was also administered the oath on National Unity Day.

After that ‘Run for Unity’ was organized for all the participants. All the participants participated with full enthusiasm in this race organized for the distance from the main building of the institute to Gurkha Gate and from there back to the main building. Two male and two female participants who stood first and second in the race were also honored with prizes. It is also noteworthy that Dr. Pramod Vishnupant Pathak, a fellow of the institute, is more than 65 years of age. He also performed very well in the ‘Run for Unity’ race. He was also honored with an award on this occasion.
