National Commission for Protection of Child Rights hails ‘Sukhashray Yojana’ of Himachal
NCPCR (National Commission for Protection of Child Rights) member Preeti Bharadwaj Dalal appreciated Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s welfare flagship program ‘ Sukhashray Yojana’ stating that it would help to secure the rights of destitute children-.
National Commission member was interacting with media after a review meeting of various departments held at Hotel Peter Hof here today.
She highlighted the importance of the Chief Minister’s Sukhashray Yojana and stated that if this scheme is implemented in a better way, it will prove to be an ideal scheme for other states as well.
Welcoming this visionary scheme Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, hoped that the state government would make efforts for the betterment of destitute children under this scheme.
During the review meeting, She discussed various matters related to Child Improvement Homes, Girls Ashrams and Child Care Homes along with other department officials including the Women and Child Development Department, SCPCR members, Juvenile Justice Board members, police, labor, education, health.
The Commission member visited eight different institutions related to the said boys and girls in and around Shimla. During this, the deficiencies found on the spot will be informed to the concerned authorities to remove them.
She said that various laws made for the rights of children should be strictly implemented so that no child is exploited.
The Commission’s Advisor Sandeep Chaudhary, Deputy Director Women and Child Development Ira Tanwar, SCPCR members, JJB members, CWC members, District Program Officer Mamta Paul Sharma and officials of various departments were present in the meeting.
