Multi-crores high load virus testing plant biting dust in Shimla

Himachal Pradesh Government and IGMC administration did not provide the space for dream project of BJP president Jagat Prakash Nadda as multicore central sponsored a high loaded (HIV) virus testing plant is biting dust in a school campus here for last one year, a official of firm installing the health equipment lamented. The project was sponsored to Himachal’s IGMC hospital during the tenure of JP Nadda as Union Health Minister. He said that Mr Nadda backed this project for Himachal along with 16 other ART center labs in the country as 65 such plant which cost tune to hundreds of corer by the union government before the covid outbreak. The sources in the state Government told UNI that IGMC administration provided a narrow triangular room to set up this plant which is too small to accommodate or set up plant forcing the state AIDS control society to kept it and many others equipment’s and plants in Government senior Secondary school Sanjouli for almost a year. Investigation revealed that dream project of Nadda seems to be the scuttle by the ruling BJP depriving many patients to benefit from  taking Antiretroviral treatment and testing of their virus load being as the plant could not become fully functional. The firms also  took up the matter with the chief secretary and health secretary several times however now IGMC administration show some interest to create some additional space in the Microbiology lab of Hospital where machines could be installed and plant become operational soon to facilitates the patients. This plant was meant for patients who came here for regular check up of their virus load to control the AIDS in the state.  The additional space was only provided after too much delay under the  pressured by the chief secretary and health secretary as plants was still biting the dust in the school campus. Number of such highly  advance and art of the science medical equipment’s are also reported biting dust in the government institutions as there are lack of space for them or or not have qualified operate or staff to run them. Similarly a microbiology labs plant under Shimla Municipal Corporations provided to it by the international agency is biting dusts in the SMC labs which is unfunctional for last eight years or more due to lack of employees and staff to run it moreover the labs is being set up in neglected state. State Government got International number of Oxygen plants or Ventilators to face the covid centers however state official never claimed that such equipment fully commissioned or stilly confined to the warehouses to become outdated soon.  The people have to spend their hard earned money in the private labs spending crores of rupees to get health facilities in the state and outside however the equipment’s provided in the health institutions is in utter state of negligent . The biomedical tests and testing of virus load is utmost important for clinical diagnosis revealed the state of health facility in the state. The sources in the government and health department said that the politics and roll of private lab cartels are responsible to sailed paced upgradation of health facilities in the state. The role of state is slowly declining in public  health which should be priority sectors of the state. The recent contracting of more than dozen of doctors in the IGMC by the covid -19 speak state of health management when Covid pandemic is on peak in the state with increasing positivity rate up to 16 per cent or pore and virus load is in the public hotspots
