Mother-son kill in the land dispute firing

Two persons ( mother and son ) were shot dead and three others were seriously injured when a villager fired at them at Bir – baghera village of the Sujanpur revenue sub division of this district on Friday . The deceased were in their field when Chanchal Singh fired at them from the top of his house and shot the two of them dead, said locals. Those who died were Karan Katoch and his mother Bimla Devi. The wife and son of Karan Katoch were getting treatment at the Sujanpur Tira hospital where they were stated to be serious. This incident was the result of a land dispute between two families. SP, Dr Akriti Sharma said that a case had been registered and DSP Sunil Dutt had gone to the spot to help the local Police authorities investigate the case. She said that the accused Chanchal Singh had been taken into custody and a case of murder had been registered against him under section 302 of the IPC. Meanwhile, there is an atmosphere of panic in the area after the incident. People of the region want the strictest punitive action against Chanchal Singh who resorted to firing from the top of his house over a petty matter.
