MoS for Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal & Meenakshi Lekhi, to unveil Shimla Lit Festival
Union Ministry of Culture and Sahitya Academy in collaboration with state Department of Art and Culture organising ‘ International Literature Festival from June 16 to 18 June will be inaugurated at 10 am in the main auditorium of Gaiety Theatre.Secretary of Sahitya Academy Dr. K Srinivasa Rao said in a press conference here today that Ministers of State for Culture, Government of India Arjun Ram Meghwal and Meenakshi Lekhi and Governor of Andhra Pradesh Vishwa Bhushan Harichandan would be present in the Lit Festiva in which as many as 425 writers, scholars, translators, filmmakers, journalists and artists from 15 countries including India are participating. Festival would be represented by 60 languages in 64 different sessions. Open discussions would be held on various topics including presentation, story and poetry. Some of the main themes are titled as Literature and Cinema World’s Classical Masterpieces and Indian Writings, Tribal Writings, Writings of LGBTQ Writers, Media and Literature, Bhakti Literature and Cultural Integration through Translation, etc. Under cultural programs Bharatnatyam by Sonal Mansingh, Taal Vadya Kacheri by P Jayabhaskar, Nathulal Nagada playing by Solanki and performance of Dastangoi Dastan-e-Karn by Mahmood Farooqui will be the main attractions. K Srinivas Rao told that Gulzar, SL Bhairappa, Chandrashekhar Kambar, Kiran Bedi, Linda Hayes, Daniel Neggers, Surjit Patar, Namita Gokhale, Kapil Kapoor, Arif Mohammad Khan, Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari, Raghuveer Choudhary, Sitanshu Yashchandra, Vishwas Patil, Ranjit Hoskote, Geetanjali Shree, Sai Paranjpe, Deepti Naval, Malashree Lal, Sudarshan Vashisht, Pratyush Guleri, SR Harnot, Hoshang Merchant, Liladhar Jagudi, Arun Kamal, Baldev Bhai Sharma, Satish Alekar and Vishnu Dutt and Rakesh Alekar would take part.
