Monsoon Havoc in Himachal: Dam Break in Malana Causes Floods and Chaos
Monsoon rains have wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh. The dam of the power project built in Malana village, Manikaran, in Kullu district has broken. This breach has led to flooding in the valley, causing widespread chaos. Overnight rain has also turned the Beas river furious, causing it to change its course near Manali city and flow onto the highway. The Chandigarh-Manali National Highway is closed in multiple locations due to landslides. Currently, residents around Bhuntar have been alerted due to severe flooding in the Parvati river.
