Modi Çabinet announce tribal status to Hati community of Sirmaur

Union Çabinet decided to announce the tribal status to Hati community of Sirmaur district Himachal Pradesh, BJP spokesperson disclosed here today. The Prime minister Narendra Modi union cabinet took the decision inwake of upcoming Assembly Election in Himachal Pradesh. The Hati community of Transgiri area of Sirmour district are seeking tribal status for last two decades and BJP made promises in 2014 Lok Sabha Election in its party menifestos. The decision was taken by the RGI to award the tribal status to Hati community but it had been denied earlier that Hati is not tribal community. Report was sent by union Home affairs to RGI again which have now decided to include Hati as new tribal community. The matter was also pending in Himachal Pradesh High court on the petition filed by a Dalit NGO. The government of Himachal Pradesh and Virbhadra Singh also raised the issue before the centre however it kept on lingering for decades. Hati community reside in Transgiri area of Sirmour district. Jonsar Babar area of Uttrakhand is already fall in the Schedule tribe area. Hatti Community which is known as ‘Khash’ live in about 54 gram panchayat of Assembly Constituency Shilai, Pacchad and Poanta Sahib in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh.
