Miscreants open fire on under trial in Nalagarh
AN under trial murder accused had a narrow escape after unidentified assailants in a broad day light opened fire on him outside the court complex at Nalagarh, on Monday.
The police in retaliation too fired some shots into air to scare away the unidentified assailants that forced the culprits to run away from the spot towards Punjab side. Meanwhile, the police had seized all the exit points and launched a massive manhunt to nab the culprits. The police have also recovered an abandoned Motorcycle bearing a Haryana registration number near police station, possibly used by the culprits in committing the crime. The empty cartridges have also been recovered from the spot.
Reliable sources in police revealed that the incident took place in the four noon as soon as a police team, deployed to produce the accused persons in the court, form Central Jail Nahan in Sirmour district was coming out after producing the accused Sunny, hails from Haryana. He was arrested by police in connection with a murder of a youth of the BBN industrial belt at Khera village couple of months ago. The miscreant also opened fire into air to dissuade the police personnel from nabbing them and possibly fled away riding another two wheeler or vehicle.
Sources revealed that the assistants who seemed to be four or five in numbers were waiting outside the court complex and as soon as the police personnel coming down form the stairs of the complex, one or tow assailants open fire on the accused Sunny who had narrow escape as the police constables also opened fire into air, owing to crowd at the spot.
Confirming this, Baddi Superintendent of Police Mohit Chawla said that shortly after the incident he visited the spot and directed to launch a massive manhunt to arrest the culprits. He said that special teams have been constituted to nab the unidentified assassinates who appeared to come from neighboring state to execute the crime.
