Mins flags off Volvo bus from Shimla to Katra

Himachal Pradesh Transport Minister Vikram Singh today flagged off a new Shimla to Katra HRTC Volvo bus service from ISBT Tutikandi this morning.
Minister said that the Volvo bus service reach Katra from Shimla via Bilaspur, Ghumarwin, Bhota, Hamirpur, Kangra, Pathankot and Jammu.  
He assured that better facilities would be available to the people with the Volvo bus service.
He said that today a very old demand of Volvo bus for Mata Vaishno Devi has been fulfilled by the people of the state. 
 People of five districts of Himachal Pradesh would get benefit from this facility. 
 He said that the Volvo bus from Shimla would leave at 1730 hrs and would reach Katra at 530hrs  the next day. 
Departure time of Volvo Bus from Katra to Shimla in the return direction has been fixed at 1739hrs and would reach Shimla at 0530hrs the next day.
 He told that about 35 percent discount is being given to the passengers in the first month of Volvo fares.  
It has been decided to offer 10 per cent promotional discount in the first month along with 25 per cent off-season discount. 
The fare from Shimla to Katra with 25 pc discount comes to Rs.1638 while with 10 pc  additional discount the fare is being charged at Rs.1475.
 He said that the services of electric buses are being provided in the state to make the urban areas of the state pollution free.  
At present, HRTC has 75 electric buses. Tender has been done to increase their number further.
“If the corona epidemic is overcome, then soon Shimla-Jaipur Volvo bus service would be started.” he said.
 Mr Singh said that transport facility is also being provided to the people of remote and tribal areas of the state as it is endeavor of the government that people living in every area of ​​the state could be benefited by the transport facility.
