Met office isdues heavy rainfall warning in next two days
Indian Meterogical Department warned people of very heavy spell of Monsoon rain, landslides, flashflood, cloud burst, rock slides, rising water level of rivers, poor visibility and disruption of essential services during next 48 hrs for subsequent three to four daysin parts of district Kangra, Chamba,Mandi,Kullu,Shimla,Sirrmaur, Solan ,Hamirpur ,Una ,Bilaspur and adj area. In an advisory issued by the IMD cautioned people to ensure the safety of lives and property and avoid rising flow of water and flood as it could endangered their life. Report arriving here said that ten people have got struck at Neugal Khadd due to instant increase in water level in Kangra district of the State. A spokesperson state Diaster Management authority informed that the incident occurred in Neugal Khad, at Thural, Dehra subdivision of Kangra district at around 8 AM this morning . The quick reaction team , around 22 members of NDRF and an Army team from Khasyol , have already been moved to the incident site to conduct the rescue operations . An incident of landslide occurred at Malakbaar place lahdu Tehsli Bhattiyat District Chamba. In which road is blocked. The work of opening the road is in progress. In which no loss reported.An incident of landslide occurred at Mecdlodganj, jogibada, khada danda road due to heavy rain. In which no loss reported. Met office said unprecedented 218 mm rain recorded in Manali of Kullu district and 188 mm in Dharmshala of Kangra district in past 24 hrs. Including National Highway 305 in Kullu district around 87 roads and 58 Power transmission lines are affected by heavy rainfall. In past 24 hrs about five people were killed and many other injuried in various rain related and road mishap. Monsoon rain human death toll went up to 211 in the state.
