Mercury plummets slightly in Himachal
The unexpected inclines in the Mercury ceased today as it plummet slightly due to clear sky in the night and partly cloudy weather in the day. Mercury expected to decline further as Met Office predicted rain or snow in isolated pockets of Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba Kullu, Kangra, Mandi and Kinnuar. Baring Hansa in Lahaul Spiti district had one cm snow it was mainly dry in last 24 hrs. Indian Meteorically Department Forecast thunder storm or lightening isolated places in the mid hills of state today. Minimum temperature of Shimla was recorded 11.6 degrees compared to 14 degrees of yesterday. As it has been stated that Minimum and Maximum temperature of Shimla was ever highest on Saturday as it was recorded 14.4 degrees and 23.2 degrees. Indian Meteorological Department said that night temperature of Shimla was 2.4 degrees down of yesterday but around eight degrees above normal. Lahaul-Spiti district administration said that Manali Leh National Highway ( NH – 003 ) was opened for four by four vehicles till Darcha, after remaining close due to an avalanche near Dhundi on Sunday. However it was still snowbound between Darcha o Shinkula for all typ of vehicles . Pangi – Killar Highway ( SH – 26 ) is also closed due to avalanche . Kaza road ( NH – 505 ) is closed from Graphu to Kaza and Sumdo to Losar is open for four by four vehicles . Local people and tourists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel in case of snowfall .
