Mercury dips to minus 0.9 degrees at Keylong

The Mercury reeling under subzero in Himachal Pradesh’s Keylong tribal town as it was recorded low at minus 0.9 degrees the Indian Meteorological Department said in a weather bulletin issued on Thursday.

After many spells of snowfall on the high reaches, Mercury froze to minus 0.9 degrees 1.4 degrees higher than yesterday. Minimum temperature showed remarkable improvement in the rest of the places with markedly dry and clear sky.

The minimum temperature of the state capital Shimla was 9.6 degrees tourist resort Kufri is 7.5, Narkanda is 5.3, Manali four degrees, Dalhousie is 8.7 and Dharmshala 11.2, Kalpa(Kinnaur) 1.8, Solan Palampur ( Kangra ) 8.5, Bhuntar and Jubberhati (airport) seven and 11 degrees.

The minimum temperature of Chamba, Kangra, and Mandi is 10 degrees, Una 11.5, and Bilaspur 14 degrees.

The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather for the next two days. A western disturbance would affect the after October 22, 2023.
