Mercury continue to above normal and Rain & Snowfall below normal in Himachal  -IMD

Mercury in the state of Himachal Pradesh continue to be remain above normal and rain and snowfall during the upcoming summer season from March to May likely to be below normal Spokesperson of IMD said in a seasonal(March to May) outlook issued for  Himachal Pradesh  today. It said that state likely to be continue to warm above normal temperature as Monthly Maximum & Minimum temperatures for March 2023 are likely to be above normal over most parts during the upcoming summer season (March to May) Maximum & Minimum temperatures are also likely to be above normal (higher than 1.5 degrees) over most parts of Himachal Pradesh. It also warned that enhanced probability of occurrence of Heat wave during March to May is likely over some regions of Himachal Pradesh. The Precipitation in March 2023 averaged over the country is most likely 

to be normal (83- to 117 per cent of long average period ( LPA) however it would  below normal (-20 pc  to -59 pc ) for the state.he state received deficient (-71%) rainfall in Himachal Pradesh in February month i.e. from 01.02.2023 to

28.02.2023. All districts of the state had received deficient rainfall during this month. District wise cumulative rainfall (mm) and their departure (71 p c) from normal given in map below. Maximum temperature broke all time high record in Shimla, Solan and Bhuntar in months of February as State remained extremely warm.
