Member quiz Govt over unnecessary purchase of electronic-meter by board
BJP Member of Assembly from Jawalmukhi Ramesh Dhawala today quizzed the Government in the state assembly during question hours seeking query about electronic meter by Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board.
Mr Dhawala also wanted to know if any audits took place in the board to verify the productivity of official purchase and fixing the responsibility to utilize the equipment’s parked idle in the stores.
Replying to the Power Minister Sukhram Chaudhary said that official purchase of tunes to Rs 100 Crore was done during last three years by the HPSEB which was purchased for future requirement in advance keeping the tough geographic and natural calamities in minds.
Not denying that meters remained useless in the stores Minister said that purchase process is being done in advance as supply of the equipment being delayed by six months or more to complete formalities.
He said that most of electric material including poles, wire and conductors and other purchased by the board could be used after expired warranty period as its shelf-life remained intact.
Minister said that board keep on auditing all official purchase and keeping inventory of store material from time to time to ensure effective utilisation and discarding of warn out materials.
Minister say that warranty period of purchased items laying the store vary from 18 to 36 months which are being used in excgency in natural calamities in time to time in the public interest.
He said that Conductor and metel meter boxes purchase in 2019 were not utilised uner warranty period upto March 1, 2021 however work of these box is under execution.Now items have been utilised.
