Medico’s pen down strike call off
The medicos who were on indefinite pen down strike since Feb 10 today call off the agitation after meeting of Doctor’s Joint Action Committee, with Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Health Minister Rajiv Sehjal here today.
A delegation of Medical Officers Association met with CM at Vidhan Sabha on today and apprised him about various demands of the Association.
Since CM assured the Association that their genuine demands would be considered sympathetically medicos decided to call off the strike.
During the meeting Chief Secretary, Finance Secretary and Health Secretary were also remained present. The meeting lasted for about two hours.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur ordered the officers to fulfill the demands of the doctors.
The Chief Minister directed that in the coming time, the recruitment of doctors would be done on regular basis.
Every year efforts would be made to advertise sufficient number of seats in the commission for doctors.
He directed the Finance Department that the notification of NPA should also be issued to the doctors who are engaged on contract.
In the meeting, state agreed to increase the ceiling of salary for doctors to 2,24,500. The 20 per cent non-practicing allowance will also be implemented from January 1, 2022 and NPAs will be treated as part of the basic.
CM assured that notification regarding 4-9-14 is going to be issued soon for the employees.
It was also agreed to increase the specialist allowance of doctors.
Apart from this, it has also been agreed to give academic allowance to the doctors working in the medical college.
Regarding all these demands, the government has constituted a committee and issued its notification.
Dr. Rajesh Sood, President of the Sanyukt Sangharsh Committee and Dr. Pushpendra Verma, General Secretary said that for two hours Chief Minister listened them cordially and assured immediate solution of their demands. Government decided to notify technical committee forth with of meeting.
He has thanked all the doctors, veterinarians, dentists, all the medical faculties and the Resident Doctors Association for uniting.
