Manish Tomar joins Congress after contesting elections as an independent

Congress has burgled the BJP’s fort in the Paonta Sahib assembly constituency of Sirmaur district. Manish Tomar, who contested the last assembly elections as an independent, joined Congress on Saturday along with his supporters. He bid goodbye to BJP and contested the elections as an independent candidate. Harpreet Singh, grandson of former MLA Ratan Singh, also joined Congress. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu made everyone join the Congress by making them wear parkas and flower garlands.

Among those who joined Congress are Parvinder Singh Bittu, former BDC and husband of current Zilla Parishad member, Intazar Ali, former state general secretary, of Youth Congress and had contested Zilla Parishad elections in 2015. He had received 3500 votes in the Badripur Zilla Parishad ward. Ramesh Kumar has been a former BDC member and Panchayat Pradhan Gorkhuwala for two consecutive terms.
