Mandi Nagrik Adhikar Manch raised various demands before DC Mandi
The delegation of Mandi Nagrik Adhikar Manch met the Deputy Commissioner Mandi and the Municipal Corporation Commissioner and were informed about the problems being faced in the city.
A press release issued by CPI(M) district Mandi Secretary Ramji Dass said in a press release issued here today that they raised various demands including construction work of the Panchayat bridge should be done soon and this bridge should be made suitable for an ambulance and Moksh Dham Rath along with two wheeler vehicles, toilet should be constructed in the cremation ground because there is no toilet anywhere near here.
Forum also put forward his proposal to the authorities regarding the place for the construction of toilets.
A demand was also raised to stop the parking of vehicles and driving tests at Paddal ground and this ground should be used only for sports activities, the broken ground around the ground.
Broken vehicles and other items should be removed from there and the grounds should be kept clean, proper arrangements should be made for monkeys, stray dogs, and destitute animals. Dog shelters should be arranged immediately and the number of cow shelters for destitute animals should be increased.
The parking system in the city should be increased and at present the problem of traffic jams has increased due to the dividers installed for traffic management, changes which will soon be informed to the Superintendent of Police through a demand letter.
Also, measures will be taken to prevent the increasing drug addiction. A demand was also made to take concrete steps regarding this.
The District Library should be shifted, after the formation of the Municipal Corporation, there have been 15 wards in the city instead of 13, but till now the Municipal Corporation administration has not been able to issue house numbers in these wards.
The Municipal Corporation should release the house numbers as soon as possible. Both the officers considered all the above demands as legitimate for the city and said that soon the administration would look into these demands and appropriate action would be taken.
The Municipal Corporation Commissioner has scheduled a detailed meeting with the delegation of Citizen Rights Forum on 27th October regarding the problems of the city in which the issues of the city would be discussed.
