Mandi liquor tragedy:Court grants 7 days police custody to accused
JMIC court Sundernagar granted seven days police custody of four Accused who were nabbed in Salapar hooch tragedy on yesterday.
The four Accused nabbed in the connection was produced before vJMIC-II court with a request for grant of police custody and the Court has granted police custody of all these accused for seven days till 26.01.2022
All these four accused were produced before the Court of . In the meanwhile, search of the other accused is going on. All persons related to the case are being interviewed.
In the matter Mandi Liquor FIR was lodged u/s 304, 308, 120B IPC dated 19.01.2022, on 20.01.2022.
Four persons have been arrested after sustained interrogation are Sohan Lal alias Ravi(27yrs) s/o Sh. Brij Lal Village Chhajwar PO Maloh Tehsil Sundernagar, District Mandi, Pradeep Kumar( 47)alias Deep S/o Sh. Khajana Ram Village Saroh PO Sudhan Tehsil Sundernagar. Jagdish Chand(57) S/o Sh. Tulsi Ram VPO Sudhan Tehsil Sundernagar. and Achchar Singh(69) S/o Bahadur Singh VPO Sudhan Tehsil Sundernagar,
The Director General of Police, HP Sh. Sanjay Kundu, IPS also reached Sundernagar and is camping at Sundernagar to supervise the ongoing investigation.
Police Spokesperson said that Arvind Digvijay Negi, IPS, who is a seasoned police officer and has worked in National Investigation Agency (NIA) and worked upon important cases of national interest, has also been made a member of the SIT formed to investigate the above case.
The SIT is undertaking the investigation in an earnest way which inter-alia includes visit of the scene of crime, raids on suspected places, seizure of incriminating material and interview of other suspected persons.
Further investigation is in progress and updates shall be shared in future.
As it has stated earlier that Seven People died and two are critical sick after consuming illicit and superious liquor on Jan 17 and Jan 18 at Salapar of Mandi district.
