Man missing after drowning in Chander Tal

A man belonged to Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh drowned and missing in glacial Chander Tal lake situated at the height of 4250 meter from the sea in Spiti subdivision of Lahaul-Spiti district . Spokesperson of state diaster Management authority said that missing Person identified as Pawan Kumar son of Pes Ram, resident of village Buragran of 

 Kullu district. Soonafter information of mishap a divers’ team in Sunder Nagar has been contacted. The body hasn’t been 

retrieved yet. Chandler Tal lake is origin of Chandera River which becomes Chenab after joining the Bhaga river. Chenab also known as Chanrabhagha in Himachal Pradesh. Half moonshaped Chander Tal attract number of tourists in summer and rainy season before it freezes in the mid of November and December for five months.
