Lying does not suit Prime Minister Narendra Modi: Awasthi
Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee Working President and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come to Himachal and lied to the people, which does not suit him. The Central Government did not give a single penny in the name of special economic package during the biggest disaster that hit Himachal Pradesh. He said whatever money has come under SDRF and NDRF is in accordance with the provisions of the budget and has nothing to do with the disaster. Whether or not disaster strikes in Himachal Pradesh, the state was bound to get this money. Therefore the Prime Minister and BJP leaders are lying to mislead the people of Himachal Pradesh. He said that if any financial assistance had been received from the Central Government, the State Government would have accounted for every penny.
Awasthi said that talking about Sepu Badi and Patandas is not going to help. The people of the state are not going to fall into these phrases again and again. If the Prime Minister has eaten a lot of Himachal’s sapu, then at least he would have given a loan of Himachal’s salt. He said that as per the rules, the state government has sent claims of Rs 10,000 crore to the central government for the damage caused by the disaster, but even after nine months, the disaster affected people of Himachal Pradesh have not yet received this amount, whereas it has been given to the people of the state. Has the right to.
Working President of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee said that Himachal Pradesh Government, with its limited resources, gave a special relief package of Rs 4500 crore to the disaster affected people of the state, which has provided relief to the people. By changing the rules, the compensation amount has been increased manifold. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu himself led the relief and rescue operations by staying at Ground Zero, which was also appreciated by the World Bank, NITI Aayog and former BJP Chief Minister Shanta Kumar. He said that BJP MLAs did not stand in support of the resolution brought in the Assembly to declare the disaster in Himachal Pradesh as a national disaster. The three BJP MPs did not even have the courage to write a letter to the Prime Minister and the Central Government asking for a special relief package for the 22 thousand disaster affected families of Himachal Pradesh.
Sanjay Awasthi said that now BJP leaders are resorting to lies to hide their failures but the public knows the whole truth. People know who stood with them during the disaster and who remained missing.
