Lions Club Shimla installs new leadership for 2024-25: New team committed to community welfare
The Lions Club Shimla held a grand ceremony at Hotel Woodvilla Palace to install its new team for the year 2024-25. The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including the Chief Guest Lion Vineet Goya, District Governor, alongside Lion Dinesh Batra VDG-1, Lion Umesh Garg VDG-II, Lion Dr. Dinesh Deepak Joshi PDG (Inauguration Officer), and several other prominent Lions Club members.
The ceremony, skillfully anchored by Lion D.V. Pathania and Lion lady Meena Sharma, saw the Chief Guest urging the newly appointed members to work with dedication toward societal upliftment, staying true to the Lions’ motto, “We Serve.”
The new leadership team, led by President Lion Man Mohan Verma, along with Lion M.K. Sharma (Secretary), Lion C.L. Sankhayan (Treasurer), Lion Gopal Vaid (Vice President), and others, took the oath of office. They pledged their commitment to furthering the cause of Lionism, with a focus on humanitarian efforts.
In his address, Lion Man Mohan Verma outlined his vision for the year ahead, emphasizing key initiatives such as environmental conservation, eye care, water preservation, disaster relief, and providing food for the hungry. He highlighted the club’s recent achievements, including tree plantations at Dhanain and Craigneno Nature Park, a “Say No to Plastic” campaign, free eye check-up camps, and financial support for underprivileged students. The club also donated shoes to children of the Himgiri Kalyan Ashram.
The new team expressed their determination to uphold the club’s legacy and continue making a positive impact on society through future projects like health check-up camps and more.
