Law college students were informed about NALSA’s plans during an awareness program organized by the Legal Services Authority
The District Legal Services Authority organized a legal awareness program on Wednesday at DDM Sai Law College Jaladi, Nadaun. The event was chaired by Aslam Baig, Secretary of the Authority. During the program, Summer informed around 200 college students and 30 faculty members about various NALSA plans.
The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has introduced several significant initiatives to make justice accessible to the general public. The most notable is the free legal aid plan, which is available to SC-ST communities, women, children, individuals with disabilities, disaster victims, torture victims, laborers, transgender prisoners, and all individuals with an annual income below Rs 3 lakh. The application process for this scheme is straightforward, and eligible individuals can apply for free legal assistance at the front office of any court premises.
The Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority also shared other important legal information. On this occasion, college principal Vijay Kumar expressed gratitude to the authority for organizing the camp.
