Lakhimpur farmers killing : Kisan Sabha not to support BJP in Himachal byelection
Lakhimpur farmers killing should be remembered by the state farmers while going for polling for coming by election on Oct 30 in the state this was stated by the Himachal Himachal Pradesh Kisan Sabha announcing to boycott the ruling party candidates.
In a press statement issued here today President of HKS Dr Kuldeeep Singh Tanwar said that farmers would vent out their wrath against anti farmer policies of the Union and State Government as the duo is bent upon to enforce anti farmers policies and laws to help the big cooperative house.
Farmers were promised to double their income by Modi Government now feeling cheated rather income came down drastically . Kisan Sabha urged all the farmers to not support the Ruling party candidates in all the three assembly and Mandi Parliamentary since the BJP is anti farmers and indulged in repression against them, Dr Tanwar said reminding the farmers of recent Lakhimpur gory crime of killing four farmers protesting farmers in UP under the convey of union minister.
Farmers in the state could not support the ruling BJP candidate in the ongoing byelections as the government did not address issues of Apple, Tomato, Maize and Paddy growers. Moreover ruling party is standing with market forces including middlemen and big corporate houses.
” HKS is taking part in the national level protest lodged by farmer unions under the banner of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha would not support the candidates belonging to ruling BJP as so called double engine government increased attack on the farmers and common many by twofold. ” Mr Tanwar said.
Farmers engaged in the Apple, Tomato, Maize and Paddy cultivation are not getting the remunerative prices and common man and consumers are facing extreme inflation. Dr Tanwar alleged that union government came out with new three farm laws to help the corporations who want to grab the landholding of farmers whereas the crops being produced by the farmers are not getting the prices to produce.
He said that farmers belonging to Juibbal Kotkahi where assembly by election is underway did not get the remunerative prices of Apples as this cash crop is being grown in 45 blocks of state and farmers of Jubbal Kotkahi is highest producer.
The apple growers have to suffer in this season owing to the crashing of the market under monopoly of corporate houses and natural and weather vagaries. The ruling Jai Ram Government neither provided any relief to farmers in lieu of natural losses not containing the crashing of apple markets and the falling of prices .
Lashing out the chief minister Jai Ram Thakur for making a statement in the election rallies that apple had no more election issues in byelection, HKS alleged that the Government has faced the wrath of farmers in the elections.
Paddy farmers of Fatehpur assembly segment including Mand region are still facing the crisis of market as the Government could provide only three procurement centers in place of five to buy their crops on the minimum support price.
Mr Tanwar said that BJP have to face the wrath of farmers of Fatehpur which is also going for bye election as they have not extended the paddy procurement center as announced by the State Government forcing them to sell their crops in Punjab in the open market.
Of seasonal farmers belonging to Arki Assembly also go for bye poll have suffered in the Kharif Tomato season as they did not get the remunerative prices the growers have to sell their produce at the rate of Rs 100 to Rs 200per crate. Lacs of farmers in this region of Solan district have suffered as farmer were supplied the spurious seed
In Mandi parliamentary segments farmers are facing burning issues of lack of good prices for Apple Of seasonal vegetable, Paddy and Maize moreover the number of farmers have started the movement to oppose the acquisition of land for four lanes and the airport.
The fertile land of Balh area is being forcibly acquired by the Jai Ram Government to develop an international airport by displacing thousands of farmers who are up in arms against the move and would oppose and boycott the BJP candidate in the Parliamentary election.
