Lahaul-Spiti Administration sounds an advisory on avalanche and snow
The Lahual Spiti administration on Thursday sounded advisory warning tourists and computers to travel cautiously on the snowbound Manali- Keylong- Leh -National Highway in the district.
In wake of continuing heavy snowfall on both sides of the Atal Tunnel Rohtang and due to the slippery condition of the national highway Travel advisory was issued this morning.
The Advisory mentions that prevailing inclement weather in the valley and the possibility of avalanches, Locals & tourists are advised to be very cautious while traveling in the valley.
Keeping ongoing inclement weather conditions in mind, Administration appealed that no tourist vehicles are allowed to enter through ATR in the district till the weather did not improve.
In case of snowfall, they are also requested to move and stay in safe places. All Hotel and Homestay owners are also requested to advise their guests likewise.
In case of any emergency and more information on the weather or road status of the valley and in event of any natural calamity or incident kindly contact District Disaster Control Room Issued in the public interest by Deputy Commissioner Lahaul and Spiti.
District High reaches of Manali, Kullu, and Lahaul-Spiti districts had moderate to heavy snowfall which may trigger Avalanche. Hansa in Lahaul-Spiti recorded 20 cm of snow Kukumseri:12 cm, Gondla 10 cm Keylong 7.2 cm, and Kalpa 0.4 cm.
In the past 24 hrs, Thunderstorm disrupted normal life in Shima district, Kangra, Bhuntar (Kullu), Sundernagar, Mandi, Bilaspur, and Palampur.
Delhi-Shimla Air Flight couldn’t operate for the last two days due to inclement weather conditions. Including State capital power supply also remained erratic in the last 24 hrs.
There are reports of hailstorms in some places in the Shimla and Bilaspur districts.
Kalpa+ Kinnaur) had 46.6 mm of rain, Joginder-nagar:45 mm, Reckong-Peo 45 mm Sangla:43.4 mm, Chamba and Dalhousie 36 mm, Tourist resort Narkanda and Bhuntar airport 29.8 mm, Shimla 28.7, Solan 26mm Bharmaur (Chamba) and Kufri 21 mm and Jubbarhati airport 19 mm. Many other places were also lashed by rain and thundershowers in the past 24 hrs.

Met office forecast rain or snowfall in many places in the next 24 hrs as the yellow alert still continues in the state.
