Kisan Sabha engaged in preparations for August 5, Preparations are also being done for all India movement of farmers
After supporting the apple movement by passing a resolution in the 16th State Conference of Himachal Kisan Sabha, Himachal Kisan Sabha is preparing to surround the secretariat on August 5. For this, village-village meetings have been held in all the districts up to Kinnaur, Shimla, Sirmaur, Kullu, Mandi.
State President of Himachal Kisan Sabha Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar and State Secretary Hotam Sonkhla informed the press that on August 5, a large number of farmers and gardeners would come to Shimla.
Sonkhla said that there is a huge anger among the gardeners against the government. This time the gardener is ready for a one-to-one fight with the government.
He said that for the steps which the government should have taken before the apple season in the interest of the horticulturists, after half the season, a committee was formed for mere formality under pressure from the farmers.
State President of Kisan Sabha Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar said that this is the beginning of the movement. Farmers across the state as well as across the country are preparing for the second phase of the massive agitation. While the state government is taking anti-farmer decisions, the central government has violated the promise of the farmers by promising minimum support price. Announcing the repeal of three agricultural laws in November last year, the prime minister had promised to set up a committee to discuss legal guarantees on MSP.
Dr. Tanwar said that the Center has constituted a 29-member committee, but only three members have been represented in it from the United Kisan Manch. Which has been rejected by the Samyukta Kisan Manch because 26 members of the committee are government representatives, officers and representatives of organizations that supported agricultural laws.
Dr. Tanwar said that the central government will have to bear the consequences and in this situation the farmers’ movement is certain.
