Kisan Sabha again warns the government about the serious condition of lumpi disease
Himachal Kisan Sabha believes that the situation of Lumpi virus outbreak in cattle in the state is still serious. Now more than one lakh animals have been infected with this disease in the state and the death toll has gone above 7 thousand. In the month of October, 792 animals have died in 6 days. The disease is spreading to new areas every day.
Himachal Kisan Sabha expressed regret and said that the government does not seem to be concerned about this problem at all.
State President of Himachal Kisan Sabha, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar said that the Kisan Sabha had submitted a memorandum to the Hon’ble Chief Minister through the department on August 12 and September 1, in which the Kisan Sabha expressed its concern and said that the animal husbandry is in the state of calamity at this time. passing through. There is an all-round crisis on their livelihood. Their animals worth thousands of rupees are sick or dying , They spend a lot of money on the treatment of animals. Animal milk has also decreased. Consumers are also not buying milk from the house where the animal has this disease.
Dr. Tanwar clearly said that at present the structure of Animal Husbandry Department is very weak and the animals are not getting adequate treatment. Vaccination of animals is not being done because apart from the shortage of staff, according to the data of the department, there is a requirement of 3 lakh 20 thousand vaccine doses, in lieu of which only 83983 vaccine doses are available with the department.
Dr. Tanwar said that due to paucity of staff, the animal husbandry is getting angry on the field staff and doctors for non-availability of services. In misery and pressure, people are getting entangled in the wrong place, while the laxity and negligence is at the level of the government. Despite the government’s announcement in the assembly, Lumpi has not yet been declared an epidemic, nor has any animal husbandry received compensation so far, despite announcing compensation for the death of animals.
Dr. Tanwar accused the government and said that the government was not filling the vacant posts in the animal husbandry department. There is no arrangement of vehicles for field staff to go to the field. Under compulsion, the staff is either using their personal vehicle or its burden is falling on the already suffering cattle farmers who are coming for 500 to 1000 rupees one time.
Through the memorandum, the Kisan Sabha has asked the government that
Animal farmers should be given immediate relief
1 . The cattle owners whose animals have died due to the lumpi virus should be given immediate compensation.
2 . Those farmers who have taken loan to buy animal and the animal has died , their loan should be waived off.
3 . Selling milk is the only source of livelihood for many livestock farmers. But the productivity of their livestock has decreased due to the lumpy epidemic. The milking animal of many cattle ranchers has died. Therefore, the government should also make provision for minimum compensation for such families.
Demanding to strengthen the structure of Animal Husbandry Department, Kisan Sabha said that
, The government should immediately recruit the vacant posts in the Animal Husbandry Department.
, Make adequate budget provision for this pandemic.
, Kits of medicines to prevent this virus should also be made available to every veterinary dispensary.
, Adequate number of lumpy virus vaccines should be made available in veterinary dispensaries and vaccination campaign should be expedited.
, At this time, vehicles should be arranged for the staff or budget should be made for them if they drive private vehicles. They should be given a special allowance for rendering services on holidays.
, Interdepartmental coordination committee should be formed to implement the epidemic so that there is no delay in following any instructions of the government.
