Kehar Singh Khachi made vice-chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Forest Department

Kehar Singh Khachi, vice-chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Forest Department Development Corporation, has been elevated to the rank of a Cabinet minister. Originating from the Theog Assembly constituency, Khachi is reportedly close to senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.

A longtime associate of the Congress party, Khachi’s new Cabinet rank is viewed as recognition for his loyalty. Despite his long association, Khachi is not a prominent figure in electoral politics.
