Junga’s traditional district level Dussehra fair concluded with great pomp
The traditional and district level Dussehra fair of Keonthal region concluded peacefully in Junga last evening. In this three-day Dussehra fair, Lanka Dahan, cultural programs of school children, Star Night, women’s tug of war, Kabaddi and wrestling competition were the main attractions for the entertainment of the people. Tehsildar Junga and Mela Officer Narayan Singh Verma said that in the wrestling competition, wrestler Jitendra of Punjab won the Badi Mali by defeating wrestler Mukesh of Mandi in the final. Similarly, Shubham of Bilaspur won the Choti Mali by defeating Bir Singh of Maryog. In women’s wrestling, Sonika of Bilaspur won the Mali by defeating Abhilasha in the final. Similarly, in the Kabaddi competition, YSC Kahlog defeated KKK Junga in the final.
The fair officer said that children from 12 different schools of Junga area participated in the cultural program in the fair. While in the evening, famous folk artists of the state forced the audience to dance by presenting one better than the other Pahadi and film songs in the Star Night. In the fair, the Home Guard jawans enthralled the people by playing melodious tunes on the band. While the NDRF jawans made the people aware about dealing with natural disasters.
Prithvi Vikram Sen attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and awarded cash prizes of 51 thousand in Badi Mali, 35 thousand in Choti Mali and 31 thousand in women’s wrestling. The winning and runner-up teams of Kabaddi were given cash prizes of 31 thousand and the winner of women’s rope wrestling team of Bharandi was given cash prize of 11 thousand.
On this occasion, deputy tehsildar Rajendra Thakur, local head Bansi Lal Kashyap, Pankaj Sen, Madan Mohan, Motiram, Surendra Sen and other officials of the committee were present. 0000
