Jairam should clarify BJP’s stand on OPS: Chandrashekhar
Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee working president and MLA Chandrashekhar said that the BJP should make its stand clear to the employees on the issue of old pension. He said that today Jai Ram Thakur is supporting OPS by becoming the advocate of the employees whereas when he was in power, Jai Ram Thakur lathicharged, released water cannons, and insulted the employees when they asked for their old pension. Jai Ram Thakur, when he was the Chief Minister, did not call any employee organization for talks, on the contrary, he challenged them to contest elections to get a pension, which shows his arrogance.
He said that Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur was full of ego while in power and even today he is full of ego due to money power. Chandrashekhar said that out of arrogance of money power, Jai Ram Thakur directly challenged God in the Assembly and said that even God cannot save this government. He said that the present state government has the full blessings of all the gods, goddesses, and people of the state. With everyone’s blessings, the present state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will complete its five-year tenure and the Congress party will once again form the government in the 2027 assembly elections.
The working President of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee said that BJP’s Operation Lotus has completely failed and BJP’s efforts to form a government based on money have failed. He said that the MLAs of the six parties who had won the assembly elections on the Congress’ election symbol betrayed the Congress party and sold out in the Rajya Sabha elections. He said that today with what mouth are the sold-out tainted leaders going among the public and asking for votes? These 6 tainted people have also broken the trust of the people of their constituency and have added the unnecessary burden of by-elections. He said that the people of the state would teach a tough lesson to the sellers and buyers in the elections and would give a befitting reply to the politics of horse-trading.
