Jairam seeks probe into anonymous letter against two IAS
Former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur demanded a probe into an anonymous letter that exposed two IAS including a Private Secretary of the Chief minister’s Office and the Managing Director of the Electricity Board for allegedly involving in hawala kickback from a private company engaged in a power project of Kinnuar district.
Talking to Media persons at Mandi Leader of Opposition Mr. Thakur stated that Mr. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s government did not respond to this letter however it exposed the two officials for having kicked back also drag the Chief minister himself into the fiasco since he didn’t respond sofar.
Mr Thakur said that such an anonymous letter (letter bomb) was also being released earlier but such allegations against government officers tarnishing the image of the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh should institute a probe to verify the contents of unnamed letters.
He said that BJP considers this a major blow to the face of the Congress government as it did not have a long time in office but such letters being coming to the public would dent the public image of the government.
It is worthwhile to mention that a letter addressed to Prime Minister was sent to media persons recently which complained about the Corruption in a power project in the Kinnaur district.
Two IAS officer who was named in the letter is senior officials. CMO and remained deputy commissioner of Chamba and another was taken over as MD of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board recently. Two officers are accused to indulged in a transfer if a Woman IAS officer who are accused of a PS to CM (one of IAS) recently for sexual harassment.
This has increased the headache of the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government as both officers are looking after key portfolios in a very reasonable position. Pressure is mounting on Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to respond to the alleged letter as former Advocate General and senior counsel of Himachal Pradesh High Court Vinay Sharma also demanded a similar probe against the two officers and snatching their current postings till they wouldn’t have clean chit.
