Irrigation projects worth ₹145 crore are Modi ji’s gift to Himachal: Anurag Thakur
Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth & Sports Affairs Shri Anurag Singh Thakur met Union Minister for Jal Shakti Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi. Shri Anurag Thakur expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Shri Gajendra Shekhawat for approving Rs 141.76 crore and Rs 221.78 lakh respectively for 14 minor irrigation projects of Himachal Pradesh and National Hydrology Project.
Calling it a boon for the farming community of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said, “Respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has always considered Himachal as his second home, and has been working towards the interests of Devbhoomi. Has shown concern and never left any stone unturned in giving gifts. This is the reason why Modi ji is present in the minds of the people of Devbhoomi. Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has approved ₹ 141.76 crore and ₹ 221.78 lakh for 14 minor irrigation projects of Himachal Pradesh and National Hydrology Project respectively (FY 2023-24). I express my heartfelt gratitude to the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Jal Shakti Minister for continuously fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the farming class of Himachal Pradesh.”
Speaking further, Shri Anurag Thakur said, “I am grateful from the bottom of my heart to the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the people of Devbhoomi Himachal, especially the farming class, that our demands be fulfilled without any delay and used to be. This speaks volumes for the BJP government’s approach to irrigation projects and flood management. Even in this flood, a big danger has been averted due to the ‘swan channelization’ that happened during the BJP rule. The Swan River was once called the ‘River of Sorrow’. There was a loss of crores of rupees due to floods here. Many bridges were washed away in 1988. The river used to expand for several kilometers on both sides during rains and floods. But this time the bridge is fine. Due to this channelization, life and property were saved and land prices also increased. To protect the interests of Himachal, the Central Government had not allowed any shortage in the past and will not allow it in future too.”
