In 10 Months Himachal took 10 thousand Crores loan: BJP

Himachal Pradesh Government took a Ten Thousand Crore loan in the first ten months of its rule, this was alleged by the BJP president Rajiv Bindal in a press statement issued here today.

He said that the government has indulged in whopping borrowing as a bill of loan borrowed in the last ten months since it came to power has increased by approximately Rs 10 thousand crores.

Dr. Rajiv Bindal said the government has closed down about 1,500 institutions to reduce the establishment costs despite that the government does not have the money to run other institutions.

He said that in the last 10 months, thousands of outsourced government employees were thrown out of the job to bring down the burden of salaries on them.

He said that the present government did not open a single new hospital, school college, or institution despite the fact that it could not able to run the government without indulging in heavy borrowing.

He said that last month it took a new loan of Rs 1000 crore which would be repaid after 20 years. He said that earlier it had taken a loan of about Rs 9000 crore.

He questioned that due to the devastating rain, all development works were halted, and institutions were closed however govt it was relying on loans.

Dr. Bindal predicted that if the present rule did not improve its spendthrift in 60 months of five-year rules it would bleed state coffers with Rs. 60 thousand crores loans.

He jibbed that if the pace of taking loans did not stop and the Congress government fulfilled its election guarantees it would require at least Rs 50,000 crore more loan.

BJP leader said that the Sukhwinder Singh government came out with a white paper on the economic and financial management of the state and mainly blamed the previous Jai Ram Thakur government for burdening the state with a Rs 74000 Cr loan could be in great embarrassment itself.

He advised the Govt to cut down the lavished spendthrift and extravagance of borrowed money to incur heavy costs on government functionaries and unproductive expenditure on the political appointees.

BJP has challenged the appointment of six Chief Parliamentary Secretaries recently and the Himachal Pradesh High Court would hear a petition filed by twelve party MLAs challenging such appointments.

BJP is also accusing the Congress government of appointing large numbers of Chairman,  vice Chairman, OSD, and advisors.
