IIM Sirmaur Celebrates Hindi Fortnight with Cultural Event ‘Smran 2.0’
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sirmaur observed Hindi Fortnight from September 14 to 29, 2024, concluding the celebration with a vibrant cultural event, “Smran 2.0,” on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti. During the fortnight, the institute organized a range of competitions like essay writing, calligraphy, dictation, poetry recitation, and music in Hindi, encouraging active participation from students, staff, and their families.
Dr. Atul Agrawal, the event coordinator, highlighted that winners of the various competitions were honored during the closing ceremony. The Director of IIM Sirmaur, Shri (Dr.) Prafulla Agnihotri, personally presented the awards to the top three participants in each category.
In his address, Dr. Agnihotri congratulated everyone on the occasion of Hindi Diwas and the success of ‘Smran 2.0.’ He reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to promoting the use of Hindi in its daily operations, in alignment with the annual program set by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs. He further emphasized that IIM Sirmaur is making dedicated efforts to implement the provisions of the Official Language Act and adhere to the directives issued by the department, ensuring that Hindi remains a vital part of the institution’s work culture.
