IGMC offering free Contrast CT Scan to EWS

The premier health institutions IGMC Shimla
renown as Snowdown since British Raj day offering free contrast CT scan therapy to the economically weaker sections in its Radiology department.

Addressing media persons, Senor Medical Superintendent Dr Janak Raj said that contrast CT scan is helping the hospital to diagnose the critical patients while charging anything from the patients.

He said that if anybody parts if inflicted by the critical disease the Contrast ct scan therapy is being used to diagnose the patients. A dye was administered into the blood of patients which help to detect the affected parts of the human body with help of contrast ct scan.

Dr Janak said that patient who have Himcare and Ayushman Bharat health cards were already provided this therapy and testing free of cost moroever to extend the facility to rest of people who are coming to hospital to get free treatment are also being assisted with free of cost treatment for this advance diagnosis.

 Normally patients have to pay Rs 2000 for having this diagnosis but the state government is providing its treatments free of cost to unburden people for other expenses.

Head off the Radiology Department in IGMC Dr Anupam Jobta said that noramly patients have to undergo simple 80 percent CT scan for their diagnosis however 10 to 20 per cent patients are being recommended to undergo contrast CT scan in the hospital helping to transform the quality and advance health services in the hospital.
