If the government is saying that the mosque is illegal, then take immediate action: Jairam Thakur

Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that appropriate action must be taken against what is illegal. We don’t talk about religion but there must be a discussion on what is legal and illegal. He said that a single-storey mosque was constructed in Sanjauli in 2010. This floor was illegal and Shimla Municipal Corporation had banned this construction. The cleric is saying that the construction was completed by 2017. This is clearly the negligence of Shimla Municipal Corporation and the administration. Now that the matter has come to notice, a law and order problem has arisen. The minister is saying, the Municipal Corporation is saying that if the construction is illegal, then the government should take action.

He said that if a common man expands his building by even a foot, his electricity and water supply is cut off, but here the electricity and water supply has not been cut off yet. If anyone is providing any kind of protection to illegal construction, action should be taken against that person also. We believe that if something is illegal then appropriate action should be taken against it, it is not a matter of religion but of legal and illegal construction. The fight is between truth and lie. He said that if people of a particular community open a shop in Himachal Pradesh then they are registered, but the people living here were not registered, this created some anger in the society.

Jairam Thakur said that the Congress minister also has the same thing to say, he raised this matter in the assembly and demanded strict action. We welcome his statement. The Congress minister even told that this land belongs to the Himachal Pradesh government and not the Waqf Board. The Congress minister also told how the Shimla Municipal Corporation had built it on the wrong person and now in 2024 this case is going on with the Waqf Board. The Congress party itself is divided on this issue.
