If Solan-Peeran bus service is not restored, there will be a sit-in protest : Prem Thakur
District Shimla BJP President Prem Thakur has demanded the state government restore the Solan-Peeran-Thund bus service. In a statement issued to the media on Tuesday, Prem Thakur said that the bus service to Peeran village of Kasumpti Vidhansabha, which has been running for the last 28 years, has been closed for the last one and a half years, due to which the people of Peeran Gram Panchayat and Satlai Panchayat are being affected. It is not logical to stop this bus service.
Prem Thakur expressed surprise and said that the people of Peeran, which is considered to be the stronghold of Congress, have been repeatedly appealing to the government for Solan bus service for the last one and a half years. Despite having a cabinet minister from the Kasupanti constituency, this Panchayat is not being heard at any level, which is unfortunate. In the last one and a half years, the delegation of Peeran Panchayat has met the MLA and Rural Development Minister several times, but the bus service has not been restored to date. However, the local Panchayat has also expressed gratitude to the minister for restoring the bus service by issuing an irresponsible statement from Bilaspur.
Prem Thakur says that the vegetable market of this area is in Solan and people of this area keep coming to Solan daily. People have to pay Rs. 400 to a private vehicle to reach Jaghed in Sirmaur district on the border, which is beyond the reach of poor people. He said that as soon as the Congress government came to power, the Solan Peeran Thund bus service was stopped, which was a great injustice to the people of this area. He said that BJP will also raise this issue with CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. If even then the government does not restore the bus service, then Kasupanti BJP will not hesitate to protest.
