He said that the latest data regarding foreign exchange reserves was released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). According to these figures, there has been a significant increase in India’s foreign exchange reserves for the fifth consecutive week. India’s foreign exchange reserves have increased to $642.631 billion in the week ending March 22. This is the highest level ever. India’s foreign exchange reserves have seen an increase of $140 million during the fifth week. He said that there has been a tremendous increase in India’s gold reserve. Gold reserves increased by US $ 347 million during the week ending March 22. After this increase, India’s gold reserve reached US$ 51.487 billion. During this period, SDR i.e. Special Drawing Right has decreased. India’s SDR has declined from US $ 57 million to US $ 18.219 billion. India’s reserve position with the IMF also declined by US $ 27 million to US $ 4.662 billion in the week under review, RBI data showed. According to the data released by the RBI, foreign exchange assets stood at Rs 123 million for the week ended March 22. The US dollar has decreased to US $ 568.264 billion.
