Icy cold wave dips mercury in Himachal

Mercury plummets by one to two degrees down in the state due to partly cloudy and foggy weather. The icy cold wave also dipped mercury by one to two degrees in the past two days.

According to Met Office rain or Snowfall is unlikely in the state of Shimla and Manali on X-mass. The coldwave likely give respite in the next two days. A western disturbance and Cyclonic circulation likely to affect the state in the coming two days may bring light rain and snow to the high reaches.

In the next two days, the temperature is likely to improve, and maybe around 17 to 18 degrees in the state.

Tourists who are planning to visit Shimla and booked X-mass holiday packages should prefer Manali and Rohtang Tunnel as they could go to Snow Point in the wake of dry weather conditions.

Shimla has a lesser chance of Snowfall may be witnessed in inclement weather conditions following the dry on new year but currently despite ice coldwave minimum temperature is higher than in Jaipur and Delhi.

Weather is expected to be mainly foggy after next week which could reduce visibility in the roads. 

The minimum temperature of Kukamseri was minus 7.6 degrees, Kaza minus ten degrees, Keylong minus seven degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur minus 3.4, Narkanda minus 0.7, Kufri one, Solan and Mandi 1.7, Shimla and Chamba three, Una and Jubberhati four, Kangra 4.7 and Dharmshala 5 and Nahan (Sirmour) 7.
