IAF Helicopter conducting rescue operation in Pangi Valley

Rescue operation was being carried out  by the Indian Air Force from February 9 to February 13 with the help of Administeration .due to recent heavy snowfall in the Pangi valley..
 Residential Commissioner Pangi Balwan Chand said that in view of the present circumstances, a demand was made from the government to provide air service for the convenience of the people.  
A helicopter facility was provided to the people of the valley to everyone them out  of valley.

 He said that during the operation, a total of 82 people were taken from Kilar (Pangi) to Bhuntar (Kullu) and from Bhuntar (Kullu) to Kilar (Pangi). Among the evecuated  including patients, old people, children and employees of various offices.

 This operation was carried out under the leadership of Wing Commander Sailesh Singh of the Air Force. Wing Commander Sailesh Singh said that in inaccessible areas like Pangi where the temperature reaches minus 15 to 20 degrees.
The  Indian Air Force is always ready to render its services from time to time. 
 He told that the Advanced Light Helicopter in operationwith hrlp of ALH and Mi -17V 5 helicopters was being usedd to conduct rescue operation.
 People  thanked the administration for its cooperation and expressed happiness.
