HRTC Announces Route Changes for Volvo Buses Operating Between Shimla and Delhi
In response to passenger feedback and the need for efficient travel, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has announced route changes for Volvo buses operating between Shimla and Delhi. The Managing Director of HRTC, Rohan Chand Thakur, unveiled a plan to streamline the routes, eliminating traffic-prone areas and optimizing travel time for commuters.
Key changes implemented include:
All Volvos on Delhi Shimla route will now go through Pinjore bypass thus eliminating delays caused by traffic congestion in commuting through inside Kalka, Pinjore, and Parwanoo
Starting immediately, every Volvo bus traveling between Shimla and Delhi will now exclusively use the Pinjore Bypass, stated the media communique by HRTC.
Second, direct routes by bye passing Chandigarh are being implemented for express service.
Now, evening buses departing from Delhi at 9:30 pm and 10:30 pm will now take a direct route from Zirakpur to Shimla via Panchkula. This change bypasses Chandigarh, ensuring passengers a quicker journey from the capital to the picturesque hills of Shimla.
Similarly, the 1:45 pm bus from Shimla to Delhi will take an express route via Panchkula and Zirakpur.
Thirdly from Shimla, at 9:45 am, Volvo bus will go from Panchkula via Tribune Chowk, Chandigarh. These adjustments are expected to save passengers approximately two hours in travel time.
Thakur stated that Volvo bus services from Shimla to Chandigarh Airport will now utilize the Pinjore Bypass, ensuring a smooth and timely journey for passengers heading to the airport.
He emphasized that these changes were made in response to passenger demands for more efficient and time-saving travel options. Commuters from Pinjore, Kalka, and Parwanoo are encouraged to use the revised services departing from TTR Parwanoo or Pinjore along the Delhi-Shimla Highway.
HRTC is committed to providing safe, comfortable, and efficient travel for its passengers. These route changes are a step in that direction.
