HRTC also extends discount on online booking to woman
Himachal Road Transport Corporation extended the 50 percent discount to women passengers in HRTC ordinary intra – state buses on HRTC advance reservation portal w.e.f. 14th July , 2022 . A spokesperson of Himachal Road Transport Corporation informed here today that the women passengers could book tickets of HRTC ordinary intra – state buses in advance on HRTC website www.hrtchp.com by availing 50 percent discount. If couple have to visit HRTC ordinary buses in the state one of them could avail 50 percent discount by booking online or advance tickets separately. However if passengers would not book separate ticket for the journey they could not avail this benifit. HRTC not extending this discount on Luxury and Interstates route ordinary services. The relaxation in the busfare for the fair sex is increased from 25 pc to 50 percent since this month. HRTC is already offering 50 pc discount in HRTC bus and a separate notification issued on July 14 to extend this benifit partly on the online and advance booking. The government stated this move as relief to a large section of society to empower them however the opposition are stating it as a damage control excercise by the Jai Ram Thakur Government in wake of uncontrolled inflation during upcoming Assembly Election. State government also announced to reduce the minimum fare from Rs seven to five however during meeting of council of Ministers it did not approved decision. People travelling short distance less than one km have to pay Rs seven even in the ordinary bus service.
