HPU former VC Prof Sikander file papers for RS Election
In the presence of Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, Party Chief Suresh Kashyap and Vidhan Sabha speaker Vipin Singh Parmar, Himachal Pradesh University former Vice Chancellor Prof Sikander Kumar filed nomination as BJP candidate for Rajya Sabha seat in State assembly complex on Monday. The victory if Mr Sikandar on the seat in now matter of few days as no other contender filled his paper for the only seat going vacant after April 2 with Completion of Congress MP Anand Sharma’s tenure. Mr Sikandar Kumar belonged to Hamirpur district express his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national chief, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Thakur for shortlisting him for the upper housem. Former Vice Chancellor HPU Dr. Sikander Kumar filled the Nomination for Rajya Sabha seat today on Monday in Himachal Vidhansabha before the returning officer and Vidhan Sabha Secretary Yashpal Sharma in the presence of Chief Minister jai Ram Thakur and Party President and MP Suresh Kashyap. Today was the last date for filing the nomination . On this occasion Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vipin Parmar, Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj and Ministers and MLAs were also present. Dr. Sikander Kumar said that he is very happy as the party has reposed faith in him and he will do his best to the betterment of the people of the State. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Party President Suresh Kashyap have congratulated Dr Sikander Kumar. Dr Sikander Kumar owns a flait at Zirakpur. He reflected movable and immovable Assests about Rs of 1.35 Cr.
