HPSSC Hamirpur not discharged its duties & responsibilities objectively, in a transparent manner
State Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau today constitute a high-level Senior police officers special investigation team to probe recent Junior Office Assistance ( Information Technology) examination paper leak case. State government decided to suspend all operation of Himachal Pradesh Subordinate Selection Commission Hamirpur and merged it in Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Shimla. This decision was taken on Monday by the state government as HPSSC Hamirpur found did not fulfilled its mandate. A notification issued by state chief secretary to wind up operation of HPSSC Hamirpur stating that public sector remained fail to fulfill the assigned the responsibility of holding the recruitment process of various posts under the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Notification said that there has been a reported instance of leakage of question paper for the post of Junior Office Assistant (Information Technology) (JOA-IT), for which examination was scheduled to be held on 25/12/2022. There is also information regarding leakage of question papers of posts Junior Auditors and Computer Operators, for which examination is proposed to be held in near future. It is also apprehended that this malpractice has been going on for quite some time past, in connivance with the personnel of the Commission. Whereas, the acts of omissions & commission in the HPSSC, Hamirpur, have not only eroded its credibility but also adversely affected the larger public interest. Prima facie, it appears that the HPSSC, Hamirpur has not discharged its duties & responsibilities objectively, in a transparent manner as well as with due confidentiality to the detriment of the job aspirants. State Government has decided to suspend the functioning of the HPSSC, Hamirpur, with immediate effect. All the ongoing & pending recruitment processes are kept in obedience, till further orders, in the public interest. Various officers or officials functioning in the HPSSC, Hamirpur, shall henceforth report to the Officer – on – Special Duty, H.P. Staff Selection Commission, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, with immediate effect, till further orders. In another press release issued by ths SV& ACB DIG G. Shiv Kumar said that SIT has been constituted by ADG SV&ACB to look into the more revelations regarding alleged malpractices in past exams conducted by HPSSC . SIT be headed by DIG SV&ACB , G Sivakumar and assisted by 3 SPs ( Sh Rahul Nath , Smt Anjum Ara and Sh.Balbir Singh) , 4 Addl SPs and 3 DySPs and number of Inspectors/SIs.
They would conduct enquiries or investigations every day to the allegations .
A separate Tech team also been constituted to aid ongoing investigation in Hamirpur. The new development has put question mark on the future of thousands of candidates as process of recruitment also raised serious concern since the previous Government. It is interesting to know that Himachal Pradesh are among few states where two Commission are assigned duty of public selector.
