HP police bust a module of 247 persons indulge in anti-India propaganda
Himachal Pradesh Police claimed that it has busted a model of 247 persons who are indluged in the anti-India Propaganda, as 188 accused are living in India and 59 abroad. This was stated by the Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu in a press released issued today after revealing about the status of FIR (No. 77/2022) May 8 , 2022 u/s 153-A, 153-B IPC and section 3 of HP Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act, 1985 was registered in Police Station, Dharamshala relating to hoisting the banners & graffiti of Khalistan on the outer boundary of H.P. Vidhan Sabha in Tapovan, Dharamshala. DGP said that after Completion of Investigation, Charge Sheet against above two accused has been filed in the CJM Dharamshala on July 8, .2022. The relevant record with regard to video that was went viral has been requisitioned from You Tube and WhatsApp. On receipt of the same, further investigation will be carried out in accordance with law and supplementary challan will be filed in the Court. He said that a module of 247 persons who indulge in anti-India propaganda was unearthed, out of which 188 are in India and 59 were living abroad. This is being followed to logical end. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Santosh Patial, DIG Intelligence & Security, Dharamshala was constituted by the Director General of Police, H.P on the same day i.e. on 08-05-2022 to carry out professional and impartial investigation. After registration of this case, a video message and a letter also went viral on social media wherein one Gurpatwant Singh Pannu (Legal Advisor, Sikh for Justice) claimed that the above act had been carried out at his behest. Accordingly, based on the contents of the above viral message, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun was also named as a co-accused and main conspirator in this case and section 13 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) 1967 was also added. In this case two accused persons namely (i) Harveer Singh s/o Rajinder Singh r/o H.No 137, Ward No 2, Morinda Distt. Rup Nagar, Punjab (age 37 years) and (ii) Paramjeet Singh alias Pamma S/o Mehar Singh R/o Village Rurki Hiran PO Lutheri Tehsil Chamkaur Sahib Distt Rupnagar, Punjab were arrested by the SIT on 11-05-2022 and 14-05-2022 respectively. A two-wheeler bearing registration No. PB-87-5411, which was used for the commission of the offence and a smart mobile phone was recovered from the possession of the accused. of the crime scene was made by the accused and the same was shared with Gurpatwant Singh Pannu.
