The Government decided to order the probe after coming to notice certain issues regarding operationalisation of langar services at IGMC Shimla including allotmentof its premises term and conditions. The order said that it has been considered necessary to conduct a magisterial enquiry to have close scrutiny of the issues to ensure proper resolution in the public interest.
This matter came to light last week when IGMC Administration with the help of police moved out all utensils and other equipment being used by an NGO, ‘Almighty Blessings’ from the hospital premises.
Reacting over the state probe IGMC Senior Medical Superintendent Dr Janak Raj said in social media page of the Hospital Administration that they are not against anybody wanting to do social service, however it is their job to stop illicit use of hospital resources.
Earlier to this defending the action IGMC authority said NGO had encroached into the state govt. land  and thus had to be removed from there and therefore the action has been taken.
Dr Janak Raj maintained that Social workers need to follow the law and procedures. He questioned the building of structures on the government land without permission and staking a claim on it .
