HP Budgets main focus on the Agriculture and welfare Schemes : Chief Minister

Himachal Pradesh 2022-23 Budget presented in the state assembly on Friday mainly focused on the Agriculture and Social welfare schemes. This was stated by the chief minister Jai Ram Thakur who also holds the portfolio of Finance and presented his 5th and last budget speaking to media persons  today. He said that since the Agriculture sector was the only area which helped during the Covid pandemic. All other sectors were reeling in the negative growth but Agriculture had the scope to sustain the economy thus main emphasis in the budget is given to agricultural activities. He said that in the report submitted by Niti Ayog member Ram Chand, a Gender budget component was added to the state budget for the first time so that allocation could be segregated to special components of woman oriented schemes and others in a scientific study to cover the number of beneficiaries on the basis of the report.The CMsaid that the Gender budget 100 percent women would be covered as beneficiaries. He said that Dro Paul of Nity Ayog also studied the agriculture and horticulture potential of the state therefore the Agriculture sectors were provided more priority in the allocations also based on Niti Aayog.
