Himachal Assembly winter session defers till next month
Himachal Pradesh 14th legislative assembly’s first and winter session convened by state Governor Rajinder Vishavnath Arhlekar at Tapovan Vidhansabha complex in Dharmshala from December 22 , 2022 now stands defer following contracting Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu positive for Corona Virus today. The first session scheduled to convened from December 22 at 11 am at Tapovan Vidhansabha complex near Dharmshala in Kangra district was deffered till further order as State government is seeking Governor nod on the decision . The decision was taken after the Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu tested positive for Corona Virus today. Principal Advisor (Media) to Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan confirmed that all engagements and programmes of the Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu scheduled from 21st to 24th December, 2022 have been postponed since the Chief Minister has been tested corona positive today at New Delhi. Naresh Chauhan said that ‘Aabhar Rally’ slated to be organized at Dharamasala on 21st December has been postponed. He said that similarly the winter session from 22nd to 24th December, 2022 proposed to be held at Dharamsala has also been postponed. He said that next dates for these events would be finalized soon. The state assembly was scheduled to met before end of 13th state assembly tenure on ending on January 8, 2023. Vidhan Sabha Spokesperson confirmed that new session deffered till next month. He said that new House would take oath before Jan 9 , 2023 as tenure of Assembly going to expire on January 8. Issuing notification on December 16, 2022, it had decided earlier to dedicate first day of session on December 22 for
oath of newly elected legislators and introduction of Chief minister and his cabinet members. On December 23 on the Second day Election of new speaker and deputy speaker and Inaugural Guv address by Himachal Pradesh Rajinder Vishavnath Arhlekar.
