Himachal’s gardeners will have to pay their liabilities in cash: Jagat Negi
Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi said that the dues of HPMC and HIMFED have not been paid for the last several years. Many farmers and gardeners have taken loans from banks. A definite date should be given by when the payment will be made.
In response to the question of Theog Congress MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore, Negi said that 20 liters of oil which is meant for spray is available in HIMFED for Rs 2750. It is available in the market for Rs 2400 to 2500. There is a gap of up to Rs 250. Will fix it. On this Jagat Singh Negi said that the total pending amount under Mandi arbitration is Rs 78 crore. As soon as the budget comes, we give it. Products are given instead of cash. Recently products worth Rs 22 crore have been given. The market rate of HPMC has also been reduced. HMO is being provided at less than the market rate. At present expensive products are not being provided in the market.
In a supplementary question, BJP MLA Balveer Singh Verma said that cash payment should be made to IRDP people immediately. There is a difference in quality. Jagat Singh Negi said that whatever inputs are being given are of quality. Will give BPL to people in cash. This is a good suggestion. If we get money we will do the same.
